Back on the Internet Highway

Due to some personal issues, I've had to put this blog on the back burner for awhile.  Driving in to work today in my 4-wheeler, as always admiring the big rigs as I go along, I thought it a shame that I'd kept this blog inactive for so long when there are so many truck pictures to be posted, so many truck stories to be written .....

Let's start up with some cool truck pix I've found around cyber space .....  Enjoy!

I don't necessarily want one .... but it's cool looking :)

Impressive!

Mmm.... yeah.... 1 cow power?

My favorite transport ;-)

Sometimes you're too hungry for your own good .... Oops!

Welcome back everyone! I promise there will be more!

ATLAS Van Lines - Most Interesting Things Moved!

I received an email that pointed me to this neat article from Atlas Van Lines of "Most Interesting Things Moves" ....

Most Interesting Things Moved by Atlas Movers
Most Interesting Things Moved by Atlas Movers by Atlas Van Lines

.... and Apollo space capsule might've been a neat sight :-) So would an 8ft camel for that matter!!

Annnnnd in true 18wheeler style, I can't post this without posting some photos of actual Atlas Van Lines trucks now, can I?

There was a surprising lack of good truck photos on the Atlas Van Lines' web site, but luckily people are so good at posting truck photos on the web ..... I borrowed a couple from there :)

Ho-hum, I'm sure this guy did its job in the day.

Oh sweet......

...sweeeeeet ...........

SWEEEEET Kenworth!!!

Gorgeous!

Caterpillar finally rolling down the highways!

So .... like so many other people, I've reunited with an old friend through Facebook, and what do you know, he's a truck driver.   The other day, he sent me a photo of a really neat truck from CAT!
Unfortunately for him, he didn't get to drive it, but still .... he's probably one of the first ones to actually catch a glimpse of this new Caterpillar truck!
I had no idea Caterpillar made such nice-looking machines, so of course, nosey me had to investigate.

Turns out these trucks are brand spanking new! It's a Class 8 CT660.  It's a versatile truck, doing anything from hauling your waste to the dump to hauling your furniture, heavy goods and whatever else needs transporting down the highway.

Caterpillar didn't enter the vocational truck business without the proper research!   They sent team members out to ride along with truckers to observe what the truckers enjoyed comfort wise, what they lacked, what they wished for.... They looked into what the ultimate solutions would be for the best visibility, best comfort and best specs, all of the information was gathered from the ones who know these trucks the best: Truck Drivers!

I'm so excited about the birth of a new truck.  Not only is it good looking, but Caterpillar is a trusted brand what heavy machinery is concerned, so it'll be exciting to see what this highway truck of theirs will mount to and how popular it will be.
Cosmetically speaking, I think it bares somewhat of a resemblance to the Mack truck, but it's got its own style as well.

The pictures below have been shamelessly copied and borrowed from the Caterpillar website.
To learn more about this new truck, go visit http://www.drivecat.com
There they have all kinds of neat videos posted, as well as more information about their new truck.

Now let's get to the juicy stuff... the pictures!! Away we go!

Again, for more information about this truck, visit http://www.drivecat.com
Their videos are really cool and you can get a better view of the CT660 there.

Anyone driving a CT660, feel free to visit us on Facebook and upload your pic!! (Or at least a pic of the truck ..... who are we kidding, that's really what we want to see ;-) hehe

Back in Business!

Kids! Work! Working on my first published novel!  It all gets in the way of what really matters...

BIG RIGS!

I saw this photo on Facebook today and I wanted to kick start back into gear again by posting it.
I have some Vegas truck-photos (I didn't make it to the convention last year, but I'm hoping to make this year's!) and some photos that friends have sent me, so I'm off and blogging again.

Anyway, thanks for hanging in there (if there are still anybody out there..... :-)) I promise, I'm like a bad penny, I will ALWAYS be back! :P

2-in-1!

I was driving to guitar practice today, and as I entered the mall where my classes are, there was a fierce big rig parked in the parking lot there.  Luckily it was Thursday night so the parking lot was fairly empty and I took a spin around to take some photos.
Unfortunately all I had was my phone, but it takes decent photos so I got some to show off.

I guess I should mention that when it comes to 4-wheelers, I'm 100% a FORD girl! I have a Ford truck myself that I spoil rotten and love like I love my pets lol, so no wonder I got excited when I saw this one....

Enjoy!

Wide Load ... and then some!

So I'm in this Facebook group called "Big Trucks Big Rigs" and they post a LOT of awesome truck pics in there.   The most fun ones are the "wide load" ones from various countries.  I have collected a few of these photos to post on the blog here.

Enjoy!

Cool!!!

Kenworth just posted this picture on Facebook, I found it pretty cool so I plainly stole it and wanted to re-post it here.  (Not to mention it's now my desktop picture on my PC here at work ....)

It's a Kenworth T800 being eaten by the World's heaviest plane, Antonov 225.

Oh how I wish I could've been there with my camera..... :)

I-15 - Vegas Bound!

I recently took a trip to Las Vegas. If I had my wish, I'd hang out the window all 4 hours it takes to drive there, because there are so many trucks on the road. Unfortunately, hanging out the window is uncomfortable.... dust and sand, bugs in teeth etc.... no fun. lol.
I quickly figured out though, that our windshield was clean enough for me to take photos of oncoming trucks. Between that and the side mirror, I was able to get a few cool truck shots... and here it is... a pure truck photo blog... no stories.... just pictures. Enjoy.

Unmistakable Golden trucks, CRST is approaching through the joshua trees.

Passed the McDonalds truck... unfortunately I just got the grill, but that's just as well...
the burger photo on the back of those trucks would make us hungry anyway.

Cool Volvo, even though the railing, it came out as a fairly neat photo.

Coming up on a heavy load
Catching the front end in the sideview mirror.

Here's a cool photo I caught of this truck as it's driving ahead of the storm.
Line of trucks leaving Las Vegas... most likely California-bound.
Swift heading in to Vegas.... love the never-ending roadway ahead.
I guess you could call this a glimpse into a trucker's life, eh?

Swift & a nice view of the surrounding desert scenery

Nice KW - California-bound.

Giant big rigs look so tiny next to these desert hills... :)

Nice KW 900 on the roadside

The blue brigade, part 1.

This is posted @ the Mad Greek in Baker ... just in case you were calcing how much longer till you hit the Greek Islands...
Row of trucks @ the Mad Greek.

KW passing underneath an overpass in Baker.

Blue Brigade part 2

Nice glimpse of an International Lonestar, followed by the unmistakable orange Schneider Freightliner.... :)

Oversize load - a Komatsu mining truck heading through the desert.

We pulled off the freeway for a few so the oversize load could catch up.... here it is again, trying to get some better photos of it )

Here's the oversize in my sideview mirror.... it's being transported by a trusty KW.

And here it is....... the Vegas skyline! Love this sight ;-)
